HISTORY

In the fall of 2001, DAK Americas was created as a new company along with three main businesses: Fibers, Monomers, and Resins. DAK Americas acquired several business units from E.I. DuPont de Nemours, it combined the technology, assets, and experience of over a 25 year relation between Alfa, S.A.B. de C.V. and DuPont. DAK Americas is wholly owned and operated as a subsidiary of Alpek , the petrochemicals and synthetic fibers business group of Alfa S.A.B. de C.V., one of Mexico's largest private corporations.
VISION

DAK Americas is a vital part of Alpek (a division of Alfa S.A.B. de C.V.,) the second largest polyester ingredient supplier in the world. DAK Americas vision is to bring prosperity and renewal to the Resins and Fibers value chains in the Americas, through leadership, products and people.
STRATEGY

DAK Americas is focused on a strategy of profitable growth & sales of terephthalic acid (TPA) including captive use in the Resins and fiber businesses, as well as merchant sales. Integration, consolidation, and knowledge intensity are the key drivers for delivering trade leading low cost production, service, and value creation to customers of Monomers, Resins and Fibers in the Americas.
