Fibers
The Polyester Staple Fibers business is the foundation on which DAK Americas was initially built and remains one of its main business units. For well over 30 years this business has been delivering innovative new products to the marketplace and continues leading technology development for many of today’s specialty and preferred performance products that consumers demand today. The history of this business includes the creation of the Polyester Staple Fibers business in the U.S. by E.I. DuPont in the early 1970's and joint ventures in Mexico with Alfa S.A.B de C.V. (DAK Americas' parent company) in the mid 1970's. All of these business units combined to create Dupont-Akra Polyester in 1999 which became a part of DAK Americas in 2001, along with creation of DAK's Monomers' and Resins' Business units.
DAK Americas is a proud member of the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO). The NCTO is a unique association representing the entire spectrum of the textile industry. From fibers to finished products, machinery manufacturers to power suppliers, NCTO is the voice of the U.S. textile industry.
